GWP Tanzania honoured by the Ministry of Water with a certificate of recognition for their continued support in the water sector

During the 7th Basin Water Board AGM, the Ministry of Water awarded the Global Water Partnership Tanzania with a certificate of appreciation for its continued support and collaboration in the water sector. The AGM was held in Kigoma town on the shorelines of Lake Tanganyika 9 - 10 July 2019.

The award came at a time where Global Water Partnership Tanzania has continued to support the Ministry of Water in various fronts within the precincts of an existing Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Water and GWP Tanzania. The Executive Director of GWP Tanzania – Dr. Victor Kongo received the certificate from the Minister of Water, Prof. Makame Mbarawa (MP).

During the same AGM, the Minister of Water also officially launched a national report on Benefits and Challenges of Transboundary Water Cooperation for Tanzania (2008/09 – 2018/19). The report is a derivative of a one-year collaborative effort between GWP Tanzania and Ministry of Water (the Transboundary Directorate) to document and highlight benefits of transboundary water cooperation for the last 10 years.
